Private Home Celebration with Monochrome Styling, Dried Florals & Statement Details

Set against the rolling hills of the Ilkley Moors, this private summer garden wedding was the epitome of understated elegance and modern romance. The couple's family home provided a heartfelt, personal backdrop, while thoughtful styling transformed every space from the ceremony garden to the chic marquee reception.

As a wedding stylist, nothing excites me more than bringing a blank canvas to life, especially in meaningful spaces like a family home. This celebration was all about balance combining natural beauty with modern monochrome details to create a seamless flow from ceremony to evening.

A Picture-Perfect Garden Ceremony
The couple exchanged vows outdoors, with sweeping views of the Ilkley Moors behind them. Their backdrop? Our 7-foot greenery arch, filled with lush artificial eucalyptus, white hydrangeas, and classic roses. It framed the ceremony perfectly adding structure without taking away from the surrounding scenery.

A white aisle runner lined with scattered rose petals led the way, flanked by black lanterns, elegant floral cubes, and white chiffon chair sashes tied with black ribbon. These thoughtful monochrome touches created contrast and cohesion within the soft garden setting.

A Stylish Marquee Reception
Following the ceremony, guests were welcomed into a stunning all-white marquee with clear sides, hired from the fantastic team at James Dabbs Marquees. The transparent walls offered uninterrupted views of the moors, bathing the space in natural light and keeping the countryside feel ever-present.

To tie the ceremony and reception styling together, we repurposed the greenery arch as a stunning feature behind the top table. From the top table, a flowing floral runner tumbled gracefully down to the floor, adding softness, movement, and continuity from the ceremony.

Elevated Tablescapes & Ceiling Florals
Guest tables featured dramatic matching flower balls from our greenery range standing tall on sleek black stands, drawing the eye upwards. Overhead, chandeliers were surrounded by floral hoops, adding romance and texture above the dining area.

For the place settings, we carried the monochrome theme through with black napkins and elegant black place names, adding just the right amount of contrast against the all-white backdrop.

A Champagne Tower & Party-Ready Reveal
As day turned to evening, the celebration shifted to the dancefloor area, where a surprise design element was revealed: an all-white flower wall, complete with the couple’s personalised neon sign. This stylish statement served as both a photo backdrop and the perfect spot for a standout moment.

Instead of a traditional cake cut, the couple poured a champagne tower in front of the wall, surrounded by cheers, laughter, and those golden-hour tones. It was one of the most iconic moments of the day—beautifully captured by the talented Lily North.
