Soft Sage Green Elegance at The Woodlands Hotel, Leeds
A Summer Wedding Full of Light, Lush Greenery & Thoughtful Styling

This dreamy summer wedding at The Woodlands Hotel in Leeds was the perfect blend of natural elegance and modern romance. Set in the venue’s beautiful, light-filled orangery, we styled this day with a soft sage green colour palette, artificial florals so realistic guests were stunned, and layers of candles, texture, and thoughtful details throughout.

Working with this couple, who wanted their wedding day to feel timeless yet fresh, was such a joy. From the ceremony styling to the tablescapes, we wove a seamless design narrative that allowed the venue’s natural charm to shine.

A Soft, Romantic Ceremony in the Orangery
The couple said “I do” in the bright, glass-walled orangery, where we styled the aisle with a beautifully balanced combination of:

Floral urns bursting with eucalyptus, white roses, and hydrangeas

Tapered and floating candles placed at varying heights for soft romantic glow

White rose petals scattered down the aisle

White chiffon chair sashes, each finished with a simple sprig of greenery

At the top of the aisle, the ceremony table was styled with a flowing sage green cheesecloth runner, grounding the space with a soft, organic texture. A central floral arrangement took pride of place, drawing focus to the couple during their vows.

Reimagining Ceremony Decor for the Reception
One of the most effective styling strategies we love is repurposing ceremony decor for the reception. For this wedding, the floral urns used during the ceremony became stunning table centrepieces, allowing the couple to maximise impact without extra cost.

Each table was styled with:

White tapered candles for romantic height

Frosted acrylic table numbers for a soft, modern touch

Hand-tied ribbon-wrapped menus, delicately finished with sprigs of greenery

The sage and white palette remained consistent across every detail, keeping the look cohesive and calming.

A Refined Top Table with a Focus on Intimacy
The top table design reflected the couple’s love for simple, elegant styling. A series of bud vases and candles lined the length of the table, paired with a central floral arrangement placed directly in front of the bride and groom. This setup kept the focus on the couple, while adding warmth and intimacy to the head table.

The couple also opted for minimalist black and white printed signage, framed on sleek black stands to subtly echo the monochrome elements of the menu design. These small details brought visual continuity and a polished, modern edge to the day.

Timeless Florals with a Lasting Impression
Although the florals were artificial, no one could tell—they were carefully chosen and styled to look utterly real. The soft textures of eucalyptus, white roses, and hydrangeas provided a timeless floral foundation, perfect for a summer wedding and ideal for long-lasting impact throughout the day.

Capturing the Day Perfectly
The entire day was beautifully captured by Lyndsey Doran Photography, whose talent for catching soft light and natural moments brought the styling to life all over again. From aisle portraits to candlelit table shots, her images told the story of a celebration that was both elegant and effortless.
